One of the major challenges with traditional synthetic turf is the use of black SBR (Styrene Butadiene Rubber) infill. While excellent for shock absorption and ball roll, black rubber absorbs significant solar radiation, raising surface temperatures dramatically on sunny days.
The VBR Solution: We have transitioned our premium installations to utilize organic or light-colored TPE and EPDM infills. These materials do not retain heat to the same degree, keeping the playing surface up to 20°C cooler than traditional systems.
