Nothing ruins a multi-crore sports facility faster than waterlogging. Even the most expensive synthetic turf or acrylic surface becomes unplayable if the sub-base drainage system fails during monsoons.

1. Geotextile Blinding & Fine Silt Migration

Using non-woven geotextile membranes with incorrect Apparent Opening Size (AOS) allows fine soil particles to blind the membrane, effectively sealing off water flow into subsurface collector pipes.

2. Aggregate Gradation & Void Ratio Errors

Open-graded crushed stone base must maintain a minimum 30-35% void ratio to act as a temporary water reservoir during high-intensity downpours (e.g., 100mm/hour rainfall rates).
