Why squash court projects fail

A Squash Court is only as good as wall alignment & sub-floor vapor sealing.

Squash courts require micro-flat wall tolerances, dust-free hardwood spring systems, and sub-slab moisture protection. Minor execution errors create dead wall rebounds and floor buckling. Here's what goes wrong without specialized court engineering.

Sub-floor moisture damage on hardwood squash court
01 / Moisture & Sub-Slab

Sub-slab moisture & floor buckling

Unsealed concrete sub-slabs trap ground humidity under timber flooring, causing maple boards to warp, cup, and delaminate after just one season of play.

Squash court wall plaster bounce
02 / Wall Rebound

Hollow plaster walls & dead rebounds

Sub-standard wall plaster or uncalibrated modular panels develop hollow cavities and uneven density, causing balls to rebound unpredictably during rallies.

Glass back wall installation misalignment
03 / Trade Misalignment

Disconnected wall, floor & glass installers

Hiring separate contractors for timber flooring, plaster walls, glass back doors, and ceiling lighting leads to structural misalignment and finger-pointing when playability fails.

Turnkey WSF Squash Court Engineering

Every component of a world-class squash court, engineered to perfection.

You don't coordinate ten contractors. We engineer and install the complete court infrastructure end-to-end — from sprung hardwood systems to toughened glass back walls.

WSF Hardwood Flooring System

WSF-Approved Hardwood Flooring

WSF-certified maple or beech timber flooring with dual-density rubber shock pads, non-slip polyurethane coating, and micro-expansion joints for athlete joint safety.

Micro-flat Front & Side Walls

Micro-Flat Plaster & Modular Walls

WSF-compliant micro-flat plaster or high-impact modular wall panels engineered for acoustic dampening, zero hollow spots, and consistent ball rebound.

Toughened Glass Back Wall System

Toughened Glass Back Walls

12mm heavy-duty toughened safety glass back walls featuring flush-fitting glass doors, stainless steel hardware, and high-visibility red line markings.

Recessed LED Ceiling Illumination

Shadowless LED Ceiling Lighting

500-750 Lux glare-free LED panel fixtures mounted flush with sound-absorbing acoustic ceiling grids, eliminating shadows during fast-paced play.

Indoor Squash Spectator Viewing Gallery

Spectator Viewing Galleries

Elevated viewing balconies, tier-seated spectator galleries, and VIP broadcast zones placed behind the glass back wall with optimal court sightlines.

HVAC Air Exchange & Changing Facilities

HVAC Dehumidification & Lockers

Climate-controlled HVAC ventilation to prevent wall sweat and condensation, paired with modern player change rooms and locker amenities.

WSF Aluminum Tin Board & Outlines

WSF Tin Boards & Accessories

WSF-standard sound-dampening aluminum tin boards with adjustable 48cm/43cm play heights, boundary line markers, and protective corner padding.

Hardwood Floor Sanding & Line Marking

Hardwood Sanding & Line Marking

Dust-free hardwood sanding, non-reflective matte finish application, precise 50mm red court line painting, and annual maintenance packages.

How a squash court gets built

A clear path from civil sub-slab to the first rally.

Our disciplined 5-phase engineering process ensures micro-flat wall tolerances, dust-free timber installation, and full WSF compliance.

1
Week 1

Sub-slab survey & HVAC check

We evaluate concrete sub-slab levelness, moisture vapor emission rates (MVER), structural ceiling heights (min 5.64m), and HVAC air duct routing before installation begins.

2
Week 2—3

3D CAD Design & Layout

Custom CAD court layout defining WSF dimensions (9.75m x 6.4m), acoustic ceiling grid locations, glass door positioning, and spectator gallery sightlines.

3
Week 3—5

Vapor Sealing & Wall System

Sub-slab vapor barrier damp-proofing application followed by high-density plastering or modular wall assembly with micro-flat vertical alignment.

4
Week 5—7

Hardwood Flooring & Glass Wall

WSF-certified sprung timber floor laying over dual-density rubber cushions, followed by 12mm toughened glass back wall and flush door fitting.

5
Ongoing

50mm Line Marking & Handover

Precision 50mm red boundary line painting, aluminum tin board fitting, LED illumination testing, and scheduled re-sanding maintenance plans.

Veera Bhadra Reddy
A message from the founder

"We don't just build grounds. We engineer the playing experience."

Having witnessed too many sports infrastructure projects fail due to fragmented vendor accountability and poor sub-surface engineering, I founded VBR Group to bring single-point responsibility to sports field construction. From the drainage profile to the final floodlight, we own the outcome — so you can focus on the game.

PLAYABLE
OR WE
RETURN

Our playable-surface commitment

Every ground we hand over is built to drain, bounce and play to the standard agreed at design stage. If the surface doesn't meet the spec at handover, we set it right — at our cost. That's the whole point of a single accountable team.

Before you ask

Questions owners ask us first.

How long does it take to build a Squash Courts ground? +

A match-grade ground with Court and drainage typically takes 4—7 months including turf establishment. A full turnkey stadium with seating, pavilion and floodlights runs 12—18 months depending on scale. We lock the timeline at design stage.

How much land do I need for a Squash Courts stadium? +

A standard match ground needs roughly 3—4 acres for the field of play and run-offs. Add spectator seating, pavilion, parking and practice areas and you're looking at 5—8 acres. We confirm the exact fit during the free site survey.

Do you build to ICC / BCCI standards? +

Yes. Court dimensions, clay profile, outfield grading and floodlight lux levels are built to the relevant standards for the level of Squash Courts you intend to host, so your fixtures can be sanctioned.

Can you renovate an existing ground instead of building new? +

Absolutely. Re-laying outfields, reconditioning Courtes and retrofitting drainage into a waterlogged ground are among our most common projects. The survey tells us what to keep and what to rebuild.

Do you work outside your home state? +

Yes — we deliver pan-India and have built across nine states. Our teams mobilise to site, and we account for regional climate and soil in the design.

What happens after handover? +

A ground is a living surface. We hand over with a groundsmanship plan and offer ongoing maintenance — mowing, aeration, top-dressing, Court care — so the surface keeps playing true for years.
